Saturday, 23 September 2017

The Australian Tax Office has announced that from early 2018 the Small Business Superannuation Clearing House will be made more easily accessible, with BAS Agents able to access it through the BAS Agent portal.

The SBSCH enables small businesses to make their employees Superannuation Guarantee and salary sacrifice payments through a single online portal.

The ATO said that from early 2018 the SBSCH will be accessible through the Tax and BAS agent portals.

It said, “We are emailing SBSCH authorised contacts about the transition, and you or your clients may receive this email.

“You don't need to do anything yet. Continue to use the SBSCH as you do now. We will let you know more about the SBSCH move to our online services in the Tax professionals newsroom and the Tax professionals newsletter in the coming months.”

The SBSCH is available for businesses with:
• 19 or less employees
• an annual aggregated turnover of less than $10 million.
