MEMBERSHIP LEVELS

STUDENT MEMBERSHIP
Student Membership is available to anyone enrolled in a Certificate IV in Financial Services (Accounting) or (Bookkeeping) course or higher at TAFE, registered training organisation (RTO) or private provider.

Membership of an association at the student level demonstrates to employers your commitment to your career development and gives you a competitive edge in the employment market. Your qualification, combined with membership of AAT Australia will assist you in seeking employment in the accounting and financial areas.

Graduates will advance to either Affiliate or Member level; depending on experience.

AFFILIATE MEMBERSHIP
This level of membership is applicable for applicants who are making transitional arrangements to provide full BAS Agent services. To qualify for
Affiliate membership level applicants should have achieved:

Graduate of the FNS40217 Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping (or equivalent course), with no bookkeeping experience;
OR
One year of work experience in a bookkeeping or accounts administration role, without formal qualifications.

MEMBER (AAT)
The Member level has minimum entry requirements of:

Holders of recognised qualification such as FNS40217 Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping (or equivalent course) or higher qualifications approved by the AAT Australia Board including the following 2 units: Establish and maintain a payroll system AND Carry out business activity and instalment activity statement tasks ; and work experience in providing bookkeeping/BAS Agent services (at least 1 year).

FELLOW (AATF)
A Fellow member of AAT will normally provide evidence of five years of membership at MAAT level (or equivalent) and a minimum of five years suitable experience.
