Student Membership is available to anyone enrolled in a Certificate IV in Financial Services (Accounting) or (Bookkeeping) course or higher at TAFE, registered training organisation (RTO) or private provider.

Membership of an association at the student level demonstrates to employers your commitment to your career development and gives you a competitive edge in the employment market. Your qualification, combined with membership of AAT Australia will assist you in seeking employment in the accounting and financial areas.

Graduates will advance to either Affiliate or Member level; depending on experience.

This level of membership is applicable for applicants who are making transitional arrangements to provide full BAS Agent services. To qualify for
Affiliate membership level applicants should have achieved:

Graduate of the Certificate IV in Financial Services (Accounting) or (Bookkeeping) or higher, with no bookkeeping experience
2 years of work experience in providing bookkeeping/BAS Agent services without formal qualifications.

Holders of recognised qualifications such as Graduate of the Certificate IV in Financial Services (Accounting) or (Bookkeeping) or higher; and
Significant work experience in providing bookkeeping/BAS Agent services (at least 1 year).

A Fellow member of AAT will normally provide evidence of five years of membership at MAAT level and a minimum of five years suitable experience.
