I joined AAT Australia more than five years ago, because it was obvious to me that they were going to become the movers and shakers among the bookkeeping organisations. The Association has the backing of the big accounting bodies and the vision to see the huge growth in the bookkeeping profession. I love the ongoing support and member benefits.

I joined when the Tax Practitioners Board announced the regulations for BAS agents; it has been an invaluable asset to me as a single-person operator. It can be hard when you’re relying on yourself without someone to bounce ideas off. I have drawn on the resources and knowledge base of the Association on many occasions.

The access to affordable PI Insurance was invaluable too.

The recent Counting the Numbers roadshow was excellent. If the standard is this high, then I will definitely be attending more events in the future.

FeatureMarilynH   I joined in 2007, when the Tax Department started to get serious about setting up the TPB and setting standards for BAS agents. I found it was a way of keeping in contact with any changes that were occurring. Going to seminars and receiving updates by newsletters, the website and so on also put members in contact with others in the industry, which led to the establishment of member forums.

alt   I joined AAT in 2007. It was an immediate shot of confidence, knowing that AAT would keep me informed of tax changes, industry feedback and development opportunities such as educational seminars. The fact that it's supported by industry heavyweights like CPA Australia, ICAA and the IPA is another major bonus.
